Happy New Year!

Another New Year has come and gone....as has another month since my last post. My only excuse is that I have been abducted. Abducted by work and family commitments and Christmas and a bunch of other stuff to numerous and irritating to mention in full.

Just a few notes to bring myself back up to speed with all the rest of you.

First, I caught Metric and Broken Social Scene in Ottawa in December and it was a wicked-great show. Imagine a who's who love-in of all of the greatest indy artists in Canada, all together on one stage, and you'll have an idea of what a broken social scene show is like. Six guitar lines! Six! It's pure music-orgy madness, and I love it. And Emily Haines from Metric is SMOKIN'. So hot. Imagine Carrie-Ann Moss with a cute little dance and a sense of humour and you'll get Emily. Plus she has this adorable way of chucking her mic over her shoulder whenever she played the keyboards.

Christmas, as always, was insane. With four families (thanks to both our parents’ respective divorces), Stacey and I have a hard time whenever there's a holiday. I was three separate places on Christmas Day alone. Plus a wedding on New Years Eve in Kingston and a birthday party....it can get to be a bit much. Things at work have been equally busy and stressful. But that's about enough about that. I did manage to see some of the highschool buds at a little shindig at my place, and that was fun. Good times had by all.

As for my plans right now, I've recently found that my body has problems with a whole bunch of foods and I'm going to have to go on a special diet. Not even obscure foods, either. We're talking sugar, and wheat, and corn, eggs, pork, and dairy products, just to name a few. So to make a long story short, I sure am looking forward to my lunches of rice cakes and salad from here on in. Yum.

That's it for now. I'm going to try to steal away some time on a more regular basis to keep this sucker semi-current. Bear with me, changes in the works. Oh, and I'll leave you with a business joke/analogy. What's the difference between involvement and commitment? In a breakfast of bacon and eggs, the chicken was involved, but the pig was committed.

Uh-oh, I think work has officially burnt out some fuses in my head. Next time: more monkey content.
