Leftover Lighting

Things that have to go away real-fast in current pop-rock (as determined after watching an hour of Much Music):
  • Red ties
  • Wannabe rock-princesses pretending to play the guitar
  • Guys wearing abnormal amounts of eyeliner
  • Crispin Glover hair

Feel free to add to the list...

Cabriolet

Tremblant....Man, has it ever changed since I first skied there in highschool. I can only barely remember the old chalet at the base of the hill where we ate over-priced auto-frier poutine while wearing still-damp boots rented from the shed next door. Now it's all over-priced Japanese gourmet cuisine and Burton snowboard retail outlets.

Laurier Courtyard

I'm off to Tremblant, wishing you all a happy easter/spring/4-day weekend!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Is it just me, or does the NCAA Final Four logo remind you unintentionally of a jockstrap? I mean, really.....what's the thought process involved here?

Five Degrees

If anyone knows where you can get a walk-in immunization in Ottawa after work without having to wait two hours to see a doctor, let me know.

1st Day of Spring

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've had a very busy 5 days which included, among other things:
  • The Planet Smashers/Guttermouth at Capital;
  • Green beer, goofy plastic hats, and bad Irish drinking songs
  • Too much Project Gotham Racing 2
  • Trailhead for travel gear
  • Birthday party for LB (hope you had a good one yesterday!)
  • Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, and
  • Practically no sleep

I'll be back on track later today!

PDV

Can you tell that I avoid taking pictures of snow if I possibly can? Bring on spring, baby!

I don't know how this got past me, but last night I found out they've made a Sin City movie. And it looks like they nailed it. Check out the trailer here. So freakin' cool. Joins my list of essential spring viewing, along with Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Star Wars.

Birdseed Symphony

Three noteworthy things that happened over the course of the weekend:
  • I was adopted as an honourary Irishman
  • I saw Rent, and it kicked ass. In a musical kinda way.
  • I saw the trailer for Revenge of the Sith. It kicked so much ass I don't even know where to begin. In a "Wow, did I just see Palpatine with a frickin' lightsaber?!" kinda way.

Kensington Mannequins

It's not every day that you get to spend 7 hours treating imaginary head traumas and breathing air through a plastic baggie into disembodied plastic heads. But hey, the next time someone accidentally amputates a finger, I'll know exactly what to do.

We Will Become Silhouettes

Further proof that I should keep a camera on me more often, just for the rare un-posed posed-looking shots like this one....

Spadina

Took a very whirlwind roadtrip into Toronto this past weekend to see my friend Dan and had a blast. For those who didn't get a call from me this time around (wish I had more than a few hours in town!), I'll be back soon. New jokes: Pizza Memo, breakfast tacos, unfounded rumours of ass-kickings, Reg the homeless guy in the alley, three cheese shops in one block, and "....with sexy results."

Beach Path

Wish I was here. This is an oil painting I did for my mom's birthday, loosely based on a photograph I took at the Greenwich section of PEI National Park. Go there, you'll love it.

Happy Birthday Mom!

This is my all-time favourite pic of the two of us. My mom is the strongest, most caring woman I have ever known, and no matter how old she claims to be, she will always be young in my eyes. Love you, mom!
